Directory a valuable resource
To the Journal editor:
Last week, I went to the township hall to pay our semi-annual property taxes. Despite extended hours and a friendly staff, it is not the most enjoyable task.
Yet on the way out. I saw something that brightened my day. Displayed on the counter was a copy of the newly released Marquette County Senior Services Directory — 2019, developed by the county’s Aging Services Committee.
As a former director of the Marquette County Commission on Aging, I was delighted to see a directory of contacts and services back in print after a long absence. Copies of the directory are now available for elder residents and their family members at the senior centers and public libraries in Gwinn, Ishpeming, Marquette and Negaunee; the clerk’s offices of the county; the cities and all 19 townships; and at the Aging Services office in the County Services Building, Negaunee Township.
The directory can also be accessed online at www.co.marquette.mi.us/SeniorServicesDirectory2019.pdf
