Line crews did great work

To the Journal editor:

A couple of weeks ago during the Thanksgiving Holiday, the Upper Peninsula experienced not one but two early season winter snowstorms.

The wet, heavy snow along with high winds resulted in power outages for many Marquette Board of Light and Power customers.

The efforts of the BLP’s dedicated staff (24 men and women — 1,086 hours) along with assistance from Negaunee Electric Department (three lineman — 24 hours), Lansing Board of Water & Light (three linemen — 66 hours) and Bugle Tree Service (nine trimmers — 224 hours) working around the clock, made a difficult holiday weekend better.

On behalf of the board of directors of the Marquette Board of Light and Power, we thank each and every customer for their understanding and patience.

We also thank the Negaunee Electric Department, Lansing Board of Water & Light and Bugle Tree Service for generous assistance.

Thank you.
