Keep fighting climate change

To the Journal editor:

“Fighting food insecurity” by the Journal’s Cecilia Brown in the Health section on Nov. 19 was excellent. It showcased Marquette Senior High School student Deirdre Riesterer doing her part to better the world.

Climate change was cited in the article as one problem compounding the crisis of 780 million undernourished people across the globe.

As the only Country in the world to leave the Paris climate agreement and not have a plan to reduce carbon dioxide polTlution, we all have an opportunity and duty to help make a difference.

There is still time for the U.S. to lower emissions to safe levels but it can only be done through legislation. If you say that you are concerned about climate change, please consider moving from believing there is a problem to donating just 10 minutes per month to call lawmakers.
