Agrees with Journal position on Redmen/Redettes nickname
To the Journal editor:
Thank you all for your thoughtful and on-point editorial in a recent Mining Journal titled “Marquette MSHS nickname change long overdue.”
I agree with you, as does my husband and our son, a student at Marquette Area Public Schools. There is no need to perpetuate stereotypes and hateful slang, especially in our schools.
Thank you for standing up for what is right and supporting all people in our community.
