Quid pro quo
To the Journal editor:
After completing my salute at the end of the National Anthem at the Northern Michigan University vs. Michigan State University hockey game (recently), a gentleman tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I was a veteran.
I answered in the affirmative, at which time he gave me ten dollars and said he would like to buy me a beer. I want him to know that his gesture was appreciated, and I matched his ten and donated it to the Jacobetti Home for Veterans.
