Mind that slippery slope, America

To the Journal editor:

Picture this! A gun, hanging on display in a sporting goods store just waiting and hoping that someone will come in and buy it so it can go out and kill someone.

Don’t laugh! There are hundreds of politicians, members of Congress and a dozen presidential candidates who believe this is the goal of a gun. Any good historian will tell you that the two common threads that the nazis, fascists, communists and socialists had were (that) all claimed to be in search of social justice and all knew they had to disarm the populous for them to succeed.

Vladimir Lenin, a Russian attorney who led the Bolshevik revolution in Russia in the early 1900s, once said “Socialism is the pathway to communism.”

Now we have thousands of college professors, politicians and the mainstream TV media here in America helping his prophecy come true. Do Americans really believe that the violent video games and thousands of gun violent movies that come out of Hollywood have no affect on children at a very early age?

If we regulate guns should we regulate gun violence in movies? Liberal progressives believe everything they are being taught in the classroom and that is why the term “common sense” no longer exists in their vocabulary. The mentality of this 21st century liberal generation totally escapes me.

With the 2020 elections just around the corner I wonder how many legal voters will use 2020 vision and vote for their grandchildren’s future and not just a political party?

Whither are we drifting America?
