Letter about millage reflects his views

To the Journal editor:

The letter to the editor in May 28 Mining Journal was very well written. I’ve been talking about this for over 50 years. When a millage is defeated it should not be allowed to be brought back for a vote for at least a year. The administrators of schools, cities, county, state and federal government must live within their means. They cannot keep going to the well for more money.

I know people that haven’t had a raise in over five years, people on Social Security get very small raises, if any. Yet utilities and everything else goes up by double digits. It’s time for these administrators to realize people cannot afford any more. We need a law passed now that when a millage is defeated it cannot come back for another vote for at least one year.

Thank you.
