In a letter published Tuesday, letter writer Fred Jakobic attributed a previous letter from April 27’s editorial page to Jan Amundsen when in fact the letter was written by Tony Gerstberger of Mohawk and was published the same day as a letter from Amundsen. To clarify this misconception, Ms. Amundsen said this:

To the Journal editor:

What Fred Jakobic wrote in his Letter to the Editor Tuesday, May 21 was completely false. Everything he wrote about me was the opposite of the way I believe.

The only (letter) I wrote recently to The Mining Journal Letter to the Editor was thanking Freedom Gas Station for their service to the handicapped on Wednesdays.

There must have been some terrible mistake as I always considered Fred my friend and we agree on so many things.
