Noon Kiwanis Club BBQ chicken coming

To the Journal editor:

It’s that time of year again when you can smell the delicious aroma of barbecued chicken emanating from Lakeview Arena on Sunday, June 9th. The Noon Kiwanis Club is celebrating its 63rd annual chicken barbecue fundraising event (the longest nonprofit fundraising event in Marquette) this coming June 9 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

This is one of our community’s largest fundraisers and last year $18,000 was earned which was distributed to over 14 community organizations, youth sports, UP Children’s Museum, Bay Cliff Health Camp, hospice, senior supports and others.

Each dinner includes a half a chicken, rolls, vegetables, milk or coffee, and ice cream, all for only $12, and all net proceeds are given back to the community.

What an easy and tasty way to support our community. Contact any Kiwanis or MSHS Key Club member for tickets, go to website or show up at the event for dine in or drive-thru pick-up.
