Todd’s parents say ‘Thank you’

To the Journal editor:

There are not enough words in the English language to express our heart-felt gratitude for the outpouring and moral support given us by the Marquette and surounding communities after the death of our son, Todd.

We cannot began to list every individual, organization or business that opened arms to support us at this time of sadness.

Collectively, you have truly made this community “someplace special” for us and we will never forget you.

From the very bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Payment role unclear

To the Journal editor:

It is unclear what input or influence Aaron Payment had in or on the removal of the American-Indian sculpture from the Sault Ste. Marie Ice Festival. The Ice Festival Committee should, however, be ashamed of its vote.

It is unnecessary to discuss the recent fashion of searching for things by which to be offended (and to be disappointed when they are not found) to regret, to lament, how this impoverished the festival.

Thanks given for Cheer Club

To the Journal editor:

As a longtime member of the Marquette County Area Salvation Army I would like to personally thank Jim Reevs and the entire staff of The Mining Journal for all their help and dedication to this year’s Cheer Club.

We are so lucky in this community to have such wonderful help for such a huge undertaking that gives the less fortunate of our county a chance to share Christmas in such a nice way.

One hundred percent of the cash donations stay in Marquette County and the thousands of toys donated allow us to have families come in and shop for their children.

It is such a heartwarming experience to see all the parents’ smiling faces as they leave on shopping day, and to know the joy this will bring their children on Christmas morning.

Sincerely yours,

NEIL JANDRON
