To the Journal editor:

Except for the noise of snowmobiles, snowblowers and plows, winter in the Upper Peninsula is a season of peaceful silence.

Our military who are serving overseas are doing their best to provide peace in our world, but no person can keep the peace perfectly.

There is only one Prince of Peace. He is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Long ago Isaiah (9-6), a disciple of Jesus, wrote about angels praising God for the birth of Jesus. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Jesus Christ is the only giver of true and lasting peace, but each of us can do our part in the effort for peace on earth. As Paul says in the Bible’s book of Romans (12:18): “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”

May each of us Yoopers help the U.P. to have peace in 2019.
