Service appreciated

To the Journal editor:

I just want to thank Tyler Leightner and Ashleigh Rogers, our Alzheimer’s Association-Greater Michigan Chapter Upper Peninsula ambassador and advocate serving with both U.S. Rep. Dan Benishek, R-Crystal Falls, and U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet.

The two of them have been a dynamic duo and strong voice of the Upper Peninsula in raising awareness, National Institutes of Health research dollars and involvement in passing of the HOPE Act.

During their time as ambassador and advocate, they have made trips to Washington D.C. and Canada, attended local town halls, held private meetings with our government and just been outstanding.

Tyler and Ashleigh are moving to Kentucky to start a new adventure together, where I am sure they will continue to raise awareness, promote increased NIH funds and tell their connection to the disease that impacts 5.8 million families across the U.S.

We are just very thankful for their strong voices and will miss them dearly.
