Lidded containers best option for city

To the Journal editor:

With regard to the choices concerning garbage and recyclables pick up, I think the strongest argument for the lidded containers is that when you put out the plastic bags, within minutes, the ravens are poking holes and dragging out garbage onto the streets. It’s unsanitary and unsightly and is rarely addressed after the fact.

The lidded containers also keep the cardboard try when it rains, and if the lidded containers make the collector’s job easier, I say more power to them.

I know Waste Management is a large corporation but they do hire local people and that’s good for our area.

Our block has been a test site for the new containers and I think they a have made the whole process cleaner and easier.

I vote for change in this instance.
