To the Journal editor:

Over 20 years ago, you were introduced to a man we call Dad, husband, grandpa, and friend.

In those 20-plus years, we watched him fight several battles that most wouldn’t be able to fight; however, we truly believe you played an instrumental part in his fight to live.

On those many roads, he entrusted in you, we believed in you, and we saw his battles become triumphs. You may say you were just doing your job, but to us, we witnessed a doctor doing more than performing medicine. You became a friend, a voice of reason, and the peace we needed when times became hard.

Dr. (Jerold) Napier, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping give us more time with the man we so loved. May you always know that “our Bob” will always be shining down on you and thanking you for the life you helped him live.
