To the Journal editor:

Why are we letting the city get away with what they are doing? They get money from the Eagle Mine for road repair, then (misuse) money from there to put in a bike path from dead river to Hawley Street, and then wonder, “Oh where, oh where” are we going to get money to repair Wright Street?

And then they want to raise utilities by 7 percent after they allow certain businesses on Third Street to take a parking space in front of their business for an outdoor dining spot then give them 25 percent off their taxes.

Does not the city commission and city manager work for us?

It is our responsibility to see the city use our money wisely and not squander it on ridiculous ventures, like the Third Street bike path.

Some are still riding on the sidewalks, not to mention making Third Street more dangerous than it was.
