Policy questioned
To the Journal editor:
I would like to add to Jim Paquette’s excellent letter. When you mention the “quality deer management program” introduced by our local hunting organizations and supported by the Michigan Department of Natiral Resources, (it) was very popular around us
It was so popular that three guys quit hunting altogether at our camp and a few more around us also gave it up.
When you had to tell a 16-year-old to pass on a nice 4-point buck because he couldn’t see brow tines and then never see a buck again, it was very discouraging.
The best part of this is that a couple of miles away, there was no “deer management” area.
Guess where you heard all the shooting.
