Day was made

To the Journal editor:

Recently, while in Marquette, after two doctor appointments, it was mid-afternoon. I was ready for a cup of coffee. Ordered coffee and a small lunch in a restaurant. Had friendly, fine service. The food was very good. Waited for the waitress to bring me my bill.

Imagine my surprise, when she told me “Your bill has been taken care of.” You don’t owe anything. Couldn’t speak for a while. Looked around and told her I don’t see anyone I know here, should know, want to say thank you. She then reluctantly, told me who it was. A young couple sitting not too far from me.

Was able to tell them a sincere thank you. “You made my day?” God bless.

Left the restaurant in a “glow” and tears. My faith in young people restored.

Didn’t get their names. I pray they read this in your paper.
