Up in smoke

To the Journal editor:

This concerns smoking allowed by the front door entrance to Snowberry Heights.

Whenever I visit I have to walk through that chemically polluted air to go inside. That second hand smoke is even more dangerous than smoking the cigarette itself.

I also noticed the visiting grandchildren have the same problem which is an atrocity. I’ve seen their residents with oxygen tanks having to walk slowly through that hazardous air to get to their rides which is humanely outrageous. Why is the Marquette city’s clean air act ordinance, section 35.05 letting them endanger and poison us?

If the city of Marquette won’t enforce this ordinance and injustice to provide us the clean air with desperately need, please call the Environmental Protection Agency at 800-662-9278.

It’s against the law for others to endanger our health by poisoning the air we have a right to breathe. I believe the EPA will deal with this atrocity quickly.

I’m surprised Snowberry allows the smokers to poison the non-smokers and their unhealthy residents!
