Don’t forget to vote
To the Journal Editor:
As one deeply involved in politics, locally and nationally, I want to encourage all registered voters to vote in the Primary Election on Tuesday.
I am chairman of the Democratic Party in Marquette County and have strong convictions about the choices we can make regarding the policies and leadership we need.
Seldom, however, are the issues partisan at the local level and contests in the August primary are mostly local. Thanks to the many candidates who have offered themselves for public service.
Voter turnout in primaries is typically very low, a trend we all can change by casting our ballots. Realize, of course, that you can only vote to choose the candidates of one party or the other, but your vote will be significant.
Absentee ballots are available right now in the offices of city and township clerks, so you don’t need to wait until August to vote.
Exercise your privilege to choose our leadership, both now and in November. There’s a lot at stake for all of us.
