Walk-A-Thon worked

To the Journal editor:

On April 12, despite the weather, 150 people gathered for the Annual 17 mile Walk-A-Thon from Tall Timber Store in Gwinn to Gary’s Knotty Pine in Arnold to raise pledges for the U.P. Pink Power Team’s effort to purchase AED’s (automated external defibrillators).

And pledge they did.! Enough money was raised by walkers, sponsors and well wishers for the U.P. Pink Power Team to purchase 17 AED’S for Upper Peninsula communities.

We would like to thank so many people, but hate to miss anyone, so we will send this 1 heart-filled thank you to every person who walked, whether it was 3, 9 or 17 miles, the volunteers, the support vehicles, the enjoyable pit stops along the route and the amazing supper crew at Gary’s Knotty Pine in Arnold.

This is a true showing of “Paying it Forward,” one step at a time. Thank you all very much for helping us, help the community.

Please contact us at uppinkpower@gmail for more details on how we can help you or visit our FaceBook page, U.P. Pink Power.

Thanks for your support.
