Hang in there
To the Journal editor:
Union is a way of life. Union has a history. I’m from a union family which has been part of that history, so are many of you.
At the Marquette Area Public Schools board meeting the other night I felt that family, that history.
The steps and lanes in your contract and my contract represent the work of our predecessors and ancestors in the union. They are the history. They are also the future.
Don’t ever give them up. They are our legacy and all union brothers and sisters must work together to maintain them.
Those steps and lanes are largely responsible for the creation of the middle class in America. Stay strong. Stay union strong. Stick together.
