To the Journal editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Mining Journal for sponsoring the annual Mining Journal Cook Off for the past 37 years.

Each year it gets better and better and your staff goes the extra mile to make each contestant feel very welcomed and special. A big thank you to Renee Prusi and her helpers. A job well done and expertly run!

Thank you also to the judges who gave up their day to critique our culinary presentations and to the businesses who donated such awesome prizes, especially Econo Foods for the $500 in groceries for the grand prize.

The cooking contest is a wonderful event and new faces would be welcomed. If you have ever considered submitting recipes I would encourage you to do so.

Win or lose it is a great day and a memorable experience.
