Ski jump tournament truly a spectacle to behold

It’s January again, which means it’s time to look to the sky. The Ishpeming Ski Club will be hosting its 138th annual Ski Jumping Tournament, which will be held at the U.P. Nordic Ski Complex. The tournament events will begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. on Jan. 18 with the junior tournament being held on Jan. 19. Gates open at 4 p.m. each day. Mary Jayne Hallifax was one of a kind

We would like to take this opportunity to call to readers’ attention the death and life of Mary Jayne Hallifax, age 96, of Munising, who passed Saturday. Mary Jayne, as she liked to be called, was one of a kind, something of a community chronicler who photographed and reported on all things Munising for many years.
