2025 Christmas Cheer Club still seeking donations to help kids, families

The month of December is going by and so is the opportunity to participate in The Mining Journal Cheer Club, which brings Christmas to the homes of many families in our local communities.

The Cheer Club is a joint effort between the Journal, the Salvation Army, and St. Vincent de Paul to provide toys to local children and families in need. Toys and other gifts can be dropped off at The Mining Journal’s Marquette office at 249 W. washington St., Marquette. Gifts should be unwrapped. Monetary gifts, which will be used to provide Christmas items to these families, are gladly accepted as well.

The annual Cheer Club has been supported by the people of the central Upper Peninsula for many years. Residents have been most generous in helping to provide some Christmas joy to needy families in our area.

We have faith readers will respond again this year to help make sure every child in our area has something under the tree this Christmas time. We thank those who have already donated and encourage those who are considering becoming a part of the effort to do so soon.

Starting at $3.23/week.
