Community foundation grant cycle starting up

The Marquette Community Foundation is a gem of an organization, handling most of its business of supporting local organizations and individuals quietly and without a lot of fanfare.

Now, however, the foundation wants everyone to know that its about to start giving away money, and quite a lot of it.

Until the end of March, nonprofits can apply for the Community Foundation of Marquette’s impact grants.

Eligible nonprofit organizations should support projects and programs that empower local organizations and individuals that address needs to benefit the community’s residents.

In 2023, the foundation awarded more than $120,000 in grants to organizations across the county. Additionally, the foundation has awarded $14 million in grants benefitting the wider commnity since it was founded in 1988.

“These grants allow for the greatest flexibility in responding to community needs, including homelessness prevention, arts, health, conservation and community development, just to name a few. We welcome proposals that will have a positive, long-term impact on the people who live in our community,” said Zosia Eppensteiner, CEO of CFMC.
