UPAWS to benefit from Raise the Woof fundraiser
If you’re searching for something to do on a cold and blustery Friday night, we have a suggestion that is fun and helps out a most worthy cause.
Tonight, the Raise the Woof Comedy Show Fundraiser to benefit Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is planned at River Rock Lanes and Banquet Center, Ishpeming, and there may be a few tickets left for purchase at the door.
According to a release from UPAWS: “Raise the Woof is a group of comedians committed to raising money and spreading awareness for animal rescue, giving animals a voice through laughter and putting the ‘fun’ in fundraising.”
Tonight’s event features three comedians and this year there are two separate shows. Tickets are general admission seating and seating is first-come, first-serve at tables.
Tonight’s first show is for Dinner and Show from 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include comedy, dinner and cocktail service with a pasty dinner to be served. Entry begins at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs to 8:30 p.m. with a 15-minute intermission.
The second event is a Late Night Show for $15 and includes comedy and cocktail service. Entry begins at 9:15 p.m. and the show starts at 9:30 and runs to about 11:30 with a 15-minute intermission.
Both shows will include the very popular candy buffet.
This fundraiser is suggested for ages 16 and up.
We hope every seat is filled so UPAWS can benefit as much as possible. UPAWS does heroic work in saving the lives of cats, dogs and other small creatures as well as in educating the public about animal issues.
