Visitors thank citizens

To the Journal editor:

My family visited Marquette over this past weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed the city. The beauty of the area, the great food we had at the Portside Inn, friendly shop owners, the history of the city we leaned about during our tour through the Maritime Museum and the picturesque sunsets made for memorable experience.

To top it off, as we were shopping downtown, a thoughtful citizen offered an act of kindness by adding money to our expired parking meter. The person left a note on our windshield challenging us to pay it forward by doing something nice for someone else.

We were able to repay the kindness later that day to some young ladies at the frozen yogurt shop who were short of change.

We really enjoyed the city and the people we interacted with and plan to return again and hope to stay longer than a few days.

We just wanted to publicly thank the citizens of Marquette for a great experience.
