He was born on August 28, 1938, to Simon and Martha Forsti of Ishpeming. Raymond was a logger (lumberjack). Very skilled in a dangerous profession. Raymond took pride in his work and it brought him good memories and satisfaction later in life. He liked to cook and family would often call to see what was cooking on the weekend.
