TRENARY, MI – Kathleen S. Knapp, 83, of Trenary, died Sunday morning, November 1, 2026, at her home.
She was born September 14, 1943, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Adron and Sue (Smith) Rush, and was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Kathy was employed for many years as a purchasing agent for the Thetford Corporation in Dexter, Michigan. She married Roger Knapp of Dexter in 1961, and they raised their children, Bill and Kelley, there at their longtime home on Baker Rd.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles. She was an excellent flower and vegetable gardener. She loved Christmas, spending time at her camp in L’Anse, canning, watching QVC, collecting all things collectible, thrifting, the Michigan Wolverines, and spending time with her family, friends, children, and grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Kelley (Barry) Boyes of Trenary; grandchildren, Jim (Angie) Knapp, Nate Knapp, Amanda (Ryan) Patterson, Samantha (Jonathan) Augustine, Kayla (Michael) Lahner, Lauren (Mike) Angeli, and Ryan Boyes; great-grandchildren, Kody, Brayden, Billy, Chuck, Liam, Augie, Goldie, Mattie, Maren and Laila; a brother, Pete (Elizabeth) Rush of Albert Lee, MN; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Knapp; and son, William “Bill” Knapp.
A viewing will be held at 10:30am followed by a graveside service at 11:00am on Friday, November 13, 2026 at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A memorial luncheon to follow, information to come.
