Dennis Andrew Havican II

MARQUETTE, MI -- Dennis Andrew Havican II, age 65, of Marquette, passed away peacefully at his home at Snowberry Heights in Marquette on October 19, 2026.

Dennis was born in Marquette, Michigan, the son of Dennis and Donna (Bergren) Havican. He was raised in Marquette and graduated from Marquette Senior High School with the Class of 1979. Following high school, Dennis proudly served in the United States Army for four years.

After his military service, Dennis worked a variety of jobs throughout his career. He especially enjoyed working in the hospitality industry, particularly in hotels, where his friendly nature and love of people were a natural fit. He also valued his time working at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, where he found fulfillment in serving others.

Dennis spent much of his adult life in the Green Bay area, but ultimately returned to Marquette, the place he loved most. In his final years, he made his home at Snowberry Heights, where he formed many friendships and was grateful for the kindness and support of both the staff and fellow residents.

A devoted Green Bay Packers fan, Dennis also enjoyed reading and spending time at Presque Isle in Marquette. Family was especially important to him, and some of his favorite memories were made during summer visits to Big Shag Lake in Gwinn.

Dennis was a true people person who made friends easily wherever he went. Easygoing and blessed with a good sense of humor, he loved to laugh and had a way of getting along with everyone he met. As the only redhead among eight children, Dennis held a special place in the family and brought his own unique personality to the group. He will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, his love of family, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.

Dennis is survived by his seven siblings: John (Thu) Havican of St. Louis, Missouri; Mike Havican of Westminster, California; Tom (Bonny) Havican of Sun City West, Arizona; Rich (Barbara) Havican of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Margaret Greenleaf of Ishpeming, Michigan; Tim (Nadra) Havican of Appleton, Wisconsin; and Chuck (Lisa) Havican of Marquette, Michigan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance with Dennis’s wishes, no public services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 2119 Presque Isle Avenue, Room 101, Marquette, MI 49855.
