Scott Harsila

ISHPEMING TWP, MI – Scott Allyn Harsila, 65, of Ishpeming Township, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, August 25, 2026 while in the care of his loving family and friends, and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Scott was born July 11, 1961 in Ishpeming to Howard and June (Jordan) Harsila and was a graduate of Westwood High School, Class of 1979.

Scott lived and worked in Texas for a number of years before returning home to reside in Ishpeming. He married the late Jeanne (Henson) and together they enjoyed camping, Hodag Festival, motorcycling and spending time with their family and friends. Following Jeanne's passing, Scott enjoyed three years of companionship with Amy Gauthier; continuing to travel and motorcycle, including attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in early August of this year.

Surviving are his loving companion, Amy Gauthier of Ishpeming; his children: Sarah Harsila and Daniel (Selina) Harsila, both of Texas; step-children: Shanna Dighera and Richard (Marianne) Wickstrom; his brother, Stewart (Rene Goyen) of Ishpeming; his beloved Labradoodle, Molly; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanne Harsila in 2021; a brother, Steven Harsila; and a step-daughter, Katrina Madsen.

Honoring his wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place in the L'Anse Township Cemetery.
