EAGAN, MN – Jill Bocklund Hughes, nee Anderson, passed peacefully into eternal life on July 28, 2026, at Eagan Pointe Senior Living in Eagan, Minnesota, at the age of 90. Jill was born in Marquette, Michigan, on April 10, 1936.

Her sisters Jonelle Collins and Cheryl Anderegg (Michael) will also miss her dearly.
Jill is also survived by Dave’s children, Kimberlee Nuquist, Kelly Hughes (Marcella), and Kurt Hughes (Kathi), and grandchildren, Trever, Quinton, Sydney, Jake, and Lexi, all of whom she loved as her own.
Jill attended Augustana Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago and relished her role as a school nurse for School District 191. She was adored by students and staff alike. Jill was an active member of Prince of Peace since 1969, participating in the choir, Circle, and Stephen Ministry. In true Minnesota fashion, Jill and Dave loved their time “up north” at their cabin and were even happier when sharing it with friends and family. After retiring, Jill and Dave enjoyed traveling the US and Europe, island and cruise adventures, and “snow bird” escapes to Florida. She volunteered with Mission Outpost at Prince of Peace and read to the children at Rahn Elementary. Jill helped many on their grief journey through her training and personal experience. She was always one of the “best dressed” and didn't believe you could have too much ice cream.
Jill was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Dan Bocklund; her parents, Leonard and Eleanor Anderson; her brothers-in-law, Dale Bocklund and George Collins and her parents-in-law, Henry and Bernice Bocklund.
She is survived by many cherished brothers and sisters-in-law from her long and happy marriage to Dan.
The family wishes to acknowledge the loving and compassionate care Jill received at Eagan Pointe Senior Living Memory Care and from St. Croix Hospice. The family is deeply grateful for the kindness, dignity, and comfort these caregivers provided during the last six months of Jill’s life.
