Leona Maria Holm

Leona was born in Pequaming, Michigan on June 8, 1928, the daughter of Pete and Sadie (Cradall) Beaudry, Leona spent her early childhood in Pequaming until the age of three, when her family moved to Marquette. After completing her education, she married the love of her life, Peter Holm, on June 25, 1945, in Marquette. Together they built a loving home and raised their family in Marquette, where they shared many happy years.

For most of her life, Leona was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family. She was a talented knitter and crocheter, enjoyed gardening, canning, and reading, and took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. Leona was known for her feisty spirit, helpful nature, easygoing personality, and strong will. She was a devoted caregiver, lovingly caring for her parents and many of her siblings throughout their lives. Above all else, Leona cherished her family and embraced life with gratitude, resilience, and love.

Leona is survived by her children, Pete (Marg) Holm of Bellevue, Wisconsin, Michael (Bridget) Holm of Marquette, Debra (Mark) Dollar of Marquette, and Brian (Brenda) Holm of Marquette; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Peter; her brothers, Louis Beaudry, Freddie Beaudry, and Roy Beaudry; her sisters, Gert Malett, Ina LáHuillier, Florence Roy, Freda Benson, and Vera Holm; and her grandchildren, Heidi Holm and Greg Kauppila.

Visitation will be held at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. Emmanuel Barwuah officiating. A luncheon will follow the service, with burial afterward at Holy Cross Cemetery.
