Eugene Miller

NEGAUNEE, MI – Eugene Ray ‘Geno’ Miller, 78, of Negaunee, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday evening, June 30, 2026 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Geno was born February 13, 1948 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin to Ray and Pearl (McBain) Miller and graduated from Black River Falls High School, Class of 1966. He honorably served in the United States Navy as a radioman aboard the USS Springfield from 1970-73 during the Vietnam War. Geno then earned his bachelor’s degree in business/marketing from UW Eau Claire in 1974. He was employed for many years as a pharmaceutical sales representative for numerous companies.

A man who had the gift of gab, Geno always enjoyed telling people his ‘Toronto joke.’ He was an animal lover, enjoyed traveling, liked to work in the garden, was an excellent cook, and read newspapers and worked crossword puzzles daily. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Sandy (Grill) Miller; two daughters: Tara (Brian Nurmela) Miller of Wakefield and Jenna (David) Nelson of Negaunee; two granddaughters: Elise and Meredith Nurmela; his sister, Judy Miles of Merillan, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a special cousin, David McBain.

Honoring Geno’s request, no public services will be held. Any memorial considerations may be directed in his memory to UPAWS. Geno’s memorial page may be viewed at koskeyfuneralhome.com.
