Mary Kay Glass

MARQUETTE, MI – Mary Kay “Kay” Glass, age 74, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, at UP Health Systems – Marquette, surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life well lived.

Born on September 17, 1951, in Marquette, Michigan, Kay was a woman whose kindness, strength, and unwavering optimism touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She lived her life with a generous heart, always putting the needs of others before her own and offering encouragement, comfort, and hope to those around her.

Kay devoted many years of her career to serving others, first as a cosmetologist and later as a Member Services Representative at Government & Railroad Federal Employees Credit Union. Whether helping a client feel beautiful or assisting a member with a smile and a kind word, she found joy in making a difference in people’s lives.

Above all else, Kay’s greatest joy was her family. She shared nearly 54 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, David, building a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories. She was a devoted mother, and a proud and loving grandmother to Caitlyn, Connor, and Colton Clement. Her family was the center of her world, and she celebrated every milestone, offered support through every challenge, and loved each of them unconditionally.

Kay also found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved crafting and cooking, creating beautiful things with her hands and bringing family and friends together around her table. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and welcome, where everyone felt loved and cared for.

Those who knew Kay will remember her gentle spirit, her infectious laugh, and her remarkable ability to find the good in every situation. She always seemed to know the right words to say, offering encouragement when it was needed most and reminding others to keep faith and hope in their hearts. Her positive outlook on life was a gift to everyone around her, and her strength inspired all who knew her.

Kay is survived by her loving husband, David Glass; her daughters, Amy Glass and Angela Clement; her cherished grandchildren, Caitlyn, Connor, and Colton Clement; and her brother, Michael McMahon, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Walter McMahon; brothers, Daniel, Patrick, Robert and Donny; and son-in-law, John Clement.

Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we take comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and in the love she gave so freely throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the kindness she shared each and every day.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
