Keith Allen Irwin
MARQUETTE – Keith Allen Irwin, age 75, of Marquette, passed away on May 23, 2026 at Corewell Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born in Marquette on October 26, 1950, the son of Gordon and Violet (Parker) Irwin. Keith was raised in Marquette and attended Marquette Public Schools.
Throughout his life, he worked for many different businesses in the area and was known as a hardworking man who was always willing to help others. He first worked at the Villa Capri Restaurant at the age of 16 making salads and washing dishes before going to work for Vollwerth Meat Packing, where he performed various duties for several years. He later worked for O’Dovero Construction for a short time and then for the Pepsi Company as a bottler for many years. Keith also worked as a bouncer and doorman at many Marquette area bars over the years.
Keith was the kind of person who would help anyone in need, whether it was giving someone a ride home from the bars or lending a hand at Petoskey Towing and Whistler’s Towing. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and was happiest in a simple T-shirt and jeans.
He loved listening to country music, going for rides in the car, and visiting with family and friends, often stopping in to see someone along the way. Keith was a regular at Vango’s Pizza & Cocktail Lounge every Friday and Saturday night. He loved cars and trucks of every kind and was known as a loyal, strong, hardworking, and giving man who could also be stubborn at times. Keith deeply loved his family, enjoyed telling stories, and could often be found sitting on his porch with his dogs, talking with everyone who walked by.
Keith is survived by his sisters, Judy Kowalski of Joliet, Illinois, and Kay Irwin and Mary Irwin, both of Marquette; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Ruth Duquette, Juanita LaFond, Dorothy Duncan, Dawn Wymer, and Sharlene Kuhn; and his brothers, Gordon Irwin Jr. and infant brother, Kenneth Irwin.
