Giulio Fogaroli
MARQUETTE, MI – Giulio Fogaroli, 80, of Marquette, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Giulio was born on April 2, 1946, in Rome, Italy, to Albert and Irene (Ret Castellan) Fogaroli. He graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, Michigan. Following graduation, Giulio proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After receiving his honorable discharge, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
On May 19, 1978, Giulio married the love of his life, Dawn R. Unruh, in Battle Creek. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and devotion to one another.
Giulio dedicated many years of service to his community as a firefighter with the City of Battle Creek. After retiring from the city he worked driving truck for K Drive Greenhouse in East Leroy, and then as a bus driver for Delton Kellogg Schools in Delton, Michigan.
An avid outdoorsman, Giulio enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He especially took pride in planting a garden each year, often starting everything from seed. Above all, Giulio was a proud family man–a loving husband, father, and Nonno (Italian for grandfather) who cherished time spent with those he loved.
Giulio is survived by his wife, Dawn Fogaroli of Marquette; son, Nino Romano (Sarah) Fogaroli of Marquette; grand-daughters, Lilliana Rina and Nila Marie Fogaroli; as well as Italian family across the United States and in Italy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Irene Fogaroli.
