Leona Marie Orr
ESCANABA, MI – Leona Marie Orr, 71, of Escanaba, and longtime Suomi resident, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, May 23, 2026 while in the care of her loving family at Christian Park Village Healthcare Center in Escanaba where she resided for the last two and half years.
Leona was born September 8, 1954 in Ishpeming to Leonard and Bertha (Hahka) Pellow and was a proud graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1972. Following graduation, she married the late Victor Orr, and together they raised their family in Suomi Location.
Leona was a devoted homemaker, always taking care of the house and especially spending time with her beloved kids and grandchildren. She loved knitting, crocheting, and reading.
Surviving are her four daughters: Susan (Jerry) Belanger of Little Lake, Hailey Williams of Ishpeming, Crystal (Tom) Beckman of Negaunee and Loni Gleich (Nathan) of Reads Landing; her son, Victor (Barbara) Orr, Jr. of Nolanville, TX; grandchildren: Meghan, Donnie, Louis, Anthony, Tori, Jesse, Kiya, Eliza, Riley, Cassidy and Courtney; fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Victor M. Orr in 2019; one daughter, Michelle Orr; one infant brother, Leonard Pellow Jr.; three sisters: Irene Kunick, Mary Grawn, and Patricia Carlson; and one son-in-law, Don Williams.
Honoring Leona’s wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
