Jerrold Martin “Jerry” Weeks
MARQUETTE, MI – Jerrold M. “Jerry” Weeks, 84, of Marquette, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at Norlite Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on July 30, 1941, in Almont, Michigan, to David and Dorothy (Boehmer) Weeks. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1959, where he excelled in football and was later inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.
On September 21, 1963, he married the love of his life, Maxine Kasperski, in Richmond, Michigan. Together they built a life centered on love, family and unwavering devotion to one another.
Jerry began his career with Southeastern Michigan Gas Company before relocating to the Upper Peninsula in 1975. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Cleveland-Cliffs until his retirement in 2002.
A devoted outdoorsman, Jerry enjoyed hunting, farming, and taking in the beauty of the UP. He was an animal lover who cherished the loyal companionship of his beagles. Above all else, Jerry treasured his family and loved every moment spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren and they treasured him. He always gave the best advice, the warmest hugs and lived a life filled with honesty, love and integrity.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Maxine Weeks; daughters, Jamie (Steve) Driscoll, Jodie (Matt) Verbeke, and Jackie (Manny) Carter; grandchildren, Taylor Driscoll, Zak (Victoria Whiting) Driscoll, Mackenzie (Rob Newson) Verbeke, Morgan (Kaden) Krabbe, Alexis (Ben) Heynen, and Madison (Travis Fenton) Carter; great-granddaughter, Hailey Heynen; siblings, David (Val) Weeks, Marjory (Paul) Koenig, and Mary (Dennis) Powelson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Dorothy Weeks, and his brother, Richard Weeks.
In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, no public services will be held.
