Jason Sarasin
ISHPEMING, MI- Jason Steven Sarasin, 45, of Ishpeming, passed away Wednesday evening, May 13, 2026 while in the care of his loving family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Jason was born September 26, 1980 in Marquette to Steve and Sandy (Arbelius) Sarasin and graduated from Marquette Senior High School, Class of 1999. He then earned his B.S. in Accounting from Oakland University, graduating with honors.
Jason was a talented CPA and owned and operated Sarasin & Associates, Inc. in Ishpeming.
He enjoyed fishing, sports, collecting antiques and reading. As a devoted sports fan, he cheered on the Chicago Bears, Detroit Tigers and Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball. He was known for his intelligence, caring nature, quick sense of humor and love of having a good time. Time spent with his children was especially meaningful to him, whether they were playing basketball, riding bikes, playing video games or inventing silly games together. His favorite saying was “No worries,” a phrase he shared often and one that reflected his love of laughter, fun and making good memories with the people around him.
Surviving are his children, Axl and Caylee Sarasin, and their mother, Sarah Shea, of Negaunee; parents, Sandy and Steve Sarasin; brother, Chris Sarasin of Guatemala; sister, Jen (Kyle) Rundman of Marquette and their children, Hayden, Cooper and Parker; aunts and uncles: Judy Wiig, Dawn Arbelius, Kathy Arbelius, Scott (Andrea) Sarasin and Stuart Sarasin; as well as many loving cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his uncle, Scott Arbelius.
The family would like to especially thank his coworkers, Pete Gadzinski and Rob Brege, for all of their help during this trying time. They would also like to thank the special and compassionate people he was so lucky to have helping with his care. Dr. O’Connor and Hannah from the Emplify by Bellin Clinic, Janet and Martha from UP Home health and Hospice, Montina from Henry Ford Hospital and Rachel Bonsall (UPHP). The family also appreciates the many others who reached out with support during the past several months.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 29th from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Koskey Funeral Home, concluding with a eulogy and blessing. A reception will follow at the Ishpeming Elks. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
