Janine M. Miljour
NEGAUNEE, MI – Janine Miljour, 69, of 428 Cherry Street passed away peacefully Sunday, May 3 at her home after a battle with cancer. She was in the care of her loving family.
Janine was born January 20, 1957 to Clarence and Patricia Bourgeois and was a life long resident of Negaunee. She graduated from Negaunee High School, as well as obtaining a surgical tech degree from Northern Michigan University. She finished her career as a coder/insurance biller remotely.
Janine was a dynamic person who loved greatly. She was always quick-witted and the life of the party. She loved to travel and had a wonderful trip to Rome in November. She loved to walk on the beach in Florida, or wherever the sun would shine. Janine was a great choral singer. She sang in St. Paul Church Sunday Choir and was a charter member with St. Paul Concert Choir and sang in all 30 years of their performances. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Negaunee.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Megan (Joe) Quinnell and Emily Miljour (Tim Brown), her partner, David Parolini, who was at her side throughout her illness, and her beloved granddaughter, Josie Smith whom she adored, and her lifelong friend, Cindy Chapman. She is also survived by her many friends who called themselves BFFS, as well as dear friends, Bill Barrette and Tony Beacco.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Miljour and her parents.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Negaunee with Pastor Breanne Kinnunen officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. A reception will follow at the Eagles Club in Negaunee. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Negaunee Eagles Club, P.O. Box 309, Negaunee, MI 49866.
