Jane Ann Wiljanen

Jane was born in Marquette on June 10, 1950, daughter of the late Larry and Aileen (Piirto) Taeger. She grew up in the Trout Creek area and graduated from Ewen Trout Creek High School with the class of 1968. Jane married her husband Wayne Wiljanen on November 1, 1972. Together they shared over 40 years of marriage until his passing in 2013. Jane and Wayne lived in several towns throughout the UP until they settling in Michigamme where they raised their family. Jane will be remembered for her enjoyment of doing crafts, cross stitching, and her love of visiting with her friends.

Jane is survived by 3 sons: Bryan (Liz) Wiljanen, Brad (Jodi) Wiljanen, Bruce (Kati) Wiljanen, 9 grandchildren: Ivan, Luke, Katie, Madison, Alexis, Josh, Max, Miranda, and Enni, 1 great grandchild: Tessa, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Wayne Wiljanen, and 5 brothers: Robert, Clifford, Lloyd, Gerald, and David Taeger.

Jane’s family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday May 16, 2026 at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held following the visitation at 11:00am. Finger foods will be served throughout.
