Lynn A. “Sam” Wakefield

She was born April 29, 1947, in Birmingham, England, a daughter of John D. and A. Joan (Card) Cox. She was raised in Bermuda and was a 1965 graduate of Kindley High School.

Lynn worked for many years as a bartender and cook in her family’s restaurant business and later moved to the Upper Peninsula in 1987.

She is survived by her son, Scot (Amy) Wakefield of Oberlin, OH; grandson, Tyler (Liz) Wakefield of Oberlin, OH; brother, John D.T. “Mickey” (Sandra) Cox of Bermuda; step-children, Aaron Wakefield of Washington and Cindi (Bill) Gorter of Kentucky; niece, Tori (Paul) Lindo of Bermuda; and great-niece, Callie Lindo of Bermuda. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Wakefield, Sr.; and son, Thomas Wakefield, Jr.

Honoring Lynn’s request, no services will be held. Interment will take place in the Gwinn Cemetery.
