Alice Faye Robinson

MARQUETTE, MI – Alice Faye Robinson, age 86 of Marquette, passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2026, in the loving care of her family and the caregivers of Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Born in Champion, Michigan, Alice was the daughter of Alexander and Clara (Sheppard) Duhame. She was raised in Champion and carried those strong roots with her throughout her life.

On September 16, 1965, Alice married Richard Lewis Robinson, in Marquette. Together, they made their home in Marquette and raised a loving family. Alice devoted herself to her family while also contributing to her community. She worked for several years at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marquette as a unit clerk. In the 1990s, she fulfilled a dream by opening a quilt shop, Needleworks, in downtown Marquette with her daughter, which she proudly operated until her retirement in 2000.

Alice will be remembered as a tenacious woman, strong in her convictions and endlessly devoted to those she loved. She was always willing to sacrifice for her family and gave whatever she could, often putting others before herself. Her love for her children and grandchildren was immeasurable. She also enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers and rarely missed a game.

Alice is survived by her children: Robin L. Robinson of Marquette, Tracy (John) VanAbel of Marquette, Richard (Hilary) Robinson of Marquette, and Robert (Rachael) Robinson of Duluth, MN. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Kelly “whom Grandma loved first” Effrig, Kristie Edward, Joe Nyzio, Aminda Davis, Daven Robinson, Henry Robinson, Frederika “Fritzy” Robinson, and Richard Lewis Robinson; and her great-grandchildren: Rebecca Effrig and Billy Effrig. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with special friends Carol Poggi, Mili White, and Linda Roe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Richard Lewis Robinson; her sisters, Pat Hamel and Beverly Ombrello; and her granddaughter, Ann Marie Nyzio.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Alice’s neighbors, especially Walt Davis and Steve Matt, for their kindness and watchful care over the years. They also wish to thank the caregivers at Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Alice in her final days.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with a dessert reception taking place throughout the visitation.
