George Ronald Belkowski

George was born October 4, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of George Anthony Belkowski and Clara (MacFalda) Belkowski. He was raised in Detroit and graduated from Laura Osborne High School, Class of 1960.

Following high school, George enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, serving honorably from 1961 to 1965. After completing his military service, he began a career in public safety. He served with the Dearborn Fire Department from 1965 to 1968 and with the Dearborn Police Department from 1966 to 1968. In 1968, he joined the Sterling Heights Police Department, where he served until his retirement in 1991.

George furthered his education by earning an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Wayne State University.

On November 5, 1966, he married Christine Kazmierczak. Together they established their home in Sterling Heights Mi where they raised their family over the next 30 years. In retirement, George and Christine resided in both Negaunee Township and Bullhead City, AZ.

He is survived by his sons, George (Theresa) Belkowski, Jr. of Marquette and Jeffrey (Laura) Belkowski of Bloomington, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Clare, Kyle, Beau, Tessa, Shayla, Brian, and Lucas Belkowski, brother William Belkowski of Howell MI and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Belkowski, and his parents, George and Clara Belkowski and his sister-in-law, Joan Belkowski.
