She was born on February 18, 1937, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, the daughter of Nello and Violet (Bjorklund) Constantini. Claudine was raised in Kingsford and graduated from Kingsford High School.

Following her graduation, she married her first husband and together they had four children while living in Vulcan. Later, she met Eston Gene Contois, and the two were united in marriage on November 7, 1970, They shared more than 53 years of marriage together. While living in Skandia, Claudine worked for several years at Heath’s Hardware Store and also cared for her grandchildren. After the hardware store burned down, she worked as a waitress at the Grove Restaurant for several years until her retirement, while continuing to care for her grandchildren.

Claudine had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, horseback riding, snowmobiling, riding four-wheelers and side-by-sides, motorcycle riding, and spending time on her e-bike. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards, especially a good game of cribbage. Over the years she cherished her beloved dogs, whom she lovingly called her “Charlies.” Claudine was a beautiful woman who was wise, strong, and deeply family-oriented.
