Henry E. “Hank” Normand
MARQUETTE, MI- Henry E. “Hank” Normand, Jr., 91, of Marquette, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Michigan Veteran Homes D.J. Jacobetti.
Hank was born on August 29, 1934, in Marquette, to Henry “Skinny” Edward Sr. and Edna I. (Dobbs) Normand. He was a graduate of Graveraet High School.
Following high school, Hank honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. After his discharge, he began a long and dedicated career as a pressman with The Mining Journal, where he worked faithfully for 30 years until his retirement.
Hank was a proud member of American Legion Post 44. In his younger years, he was active in a bowling league, playing for the Elks Lodge, and enjoyed playing softball. Hank also enjoyed golfing and hockey, but above all, he cherished his family. He was deeply family-oriented and was known lovingly as the “best grandpa.”
Hank is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Lorenz) Butterfield of Little Lake; his grandchildren, Joshua (Joanne) Miller, Rachel Miller, Justin Sather, Timothy Tebeest, and Tavis Hetrick; and his great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cody, Zain, Teagan, Trystyn, Drayven, Macie, Zeke and Anessa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry “Skinny” Sr. and Edna Normand; his children, Lori “Sam” Sather and Timothy Normand; son-in-law, Aaron Sather; his siblings, Mary, Richard, Tom, and Elizabeth; and two grandsons, Ryan Sather and Tyler Gustafson.
A graveside service for Hank will be held at Northland Chapel Gardens at a later date.
