Barbara Louise (Boogren) Nordeen

Barb was born on August 2, 1943, in Ishpeming to Charles Ronald Boogren and Angeline Marie (Suardini) Boogren. She graduated in 1961 from Gwinn High School.

On August 19, 1961, Barb married the love of her life, John Dominic Nordeen, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Together they shared 46 years of marriage before John’s passing.

Barb found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader and had built a home library that reflected her love of books. She enjoyed crafts, especially knitting and crocheting, creating many treasured handmade pieces. Above all, Barb loved to cook. Her kitchen was always warm and welcoming, and no one ever left her home hungry.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacie (William) Nordeen-Hoeppner of Brookfield, WI; her son, John Andrew Nordeen of Marquette; her grandchildren, Derrick Hoeppner of Nova Scotia, and Victoria and Breanna Hoeppner of Minneapolis, MN; her brother, Peter (Jeania) Boogren of Leander, TX; her niece, Heidi; nephews, Alan, Kent, and Alex; and her special companion, Gerald Stille.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Angie Boogren; her husband, John Nordeen; her sister, Linda Boogren; and her niece, Susan.

Per Barb’s request, no formal services will be held.
