Sharon Landmark

MARQUETTE, MI- Sharon Marie Landmark, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, under the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice following a lengthy illness.

Sharon was born on March 23, 1951, in Ishpeming, Michigan, the youngest of seven children born to George âMurphã and Lydia (Rovedo) Jandron. She grew up and lived most of her life as a resident of Negaunee, graduating from Negaunee High School in 1969. After graduating, Sharon studied at the Wisconsin School of Cosmetology and opened the Hair Port salon in downtown Negaunee. She eventually relocated the Hair Port to her house on Peck Street.

Sharon met the love of her life, Dan Landmark, while he was stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in 1973. They were married in 1974, building a beautiful life together. They welcomed a son, Kevin in, 1978.

Dan and Sharon enjoyed traveling together, often taking their nieces and nephews, who remember her vibrant personality, warm and nurturing energy, and the fun and laughter of sing-a-longs on road and camping trips. Sharon began a beloved tradition of many family members gathering around at Christmas for cookie baking with the favorite family recipes, which is still carried on today. She was also the keeper of family history and cherished family recipes.

Sharon’s love for children, warmth and nurturing continued into her professional life, working as a preschool teacher at Under the Rainbow and a teacher’s aide at Lakeview Elementary School for over twenty years. Above all else, Sharon loved being a mother and grandmother. Even as her illness progressed, Sharon drew comfort from knowing that her family was settled and well cared for.

Remaining to cherish Sharon’s memory are her husband of 51 years, Dan Landmark; son Kevin (Jamie) Landmark; grandchildren: Hannah and Noah Landmark; brothers: Paul (Laura) Jandron, and Ray (Jean) Jandron; sister: Kay Durocher; brothers-in-law: Jim (Martha) Landmark and Steve Landmark; sister-in-law: Judy Jandron, several beloved nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Connie Penney.
