Ronald Raymond Green

Ron was born on September 25, 1957, the son of Robert Green and Agnes (Parent) Green. He married Paulette Weesen in 1978, and together they had two children, Shannon and Garrett.

Ron graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Engineering and began his career in 1981 at Control Data Corporation, in Bloomington, MN. The Control Data group changed ownership and eventually became General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS). Ron worked on numerous computer components and systems that controlled many of the nation’s defense assets including torpedoes, aircraft, submarines, missiles and several space systems. He earned his MBA from the Carlson School of Management, and later served as Director of Quality for GDMS, prior to his retirement.

Ron was a devoted outdoorsman who made annual trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for bird hunting and deer season. Just two weeks before his passing, he enjoyed a successful hunt, harvesting an impressive eight-point deer near Rock, Michigan.

Ron is survived by daughter Shannon Green; his brother, Robert Green and sister-in-law Betty, sisters Sharon Laine and brother-in-law Tom, and Cheryl DeVerney and brother-in-law George; numerous nieces and nephews and his friend Melissa Paige.

Ron was preceded in death in June 2025 by his son Garrett , who passed away unexpectedly.

Two celebrations of life will be held in the spring. One in Marquette, MI and one in Minneapolis, MN.
